This song is stuck in my head. Not a bad thing.
Hello everyone!
Here I come with another Spanish History lesson. Today we celebrate the 200-year-anniversary of the Constitution of Cádiz, a.k.a “La Pepa” because it was established Saint Joseph Day and Father’s Day (Pepe is a nickname for José and Constitution was represented as a woman, so it was Pepa).
Why it was/is so important for Spain and Europe? Because it was the first modern Constitutions and set the basics for current Democracy. It defended rights as Separation of Powers, National Sovereignty, Freedom of Expression or Inviolavility of the Home. Now, you can think of that is SO obvious but just figure out to write down that in 1812 when Europe was controlled by Absolutist Monarchies and Napoleon. A revolution in Cádiz, the last corner of Europe, was set instead but it didn’t last so long because it supossed a break of powerful kings and landlords.
So, it’s a good day to celebrate it!

Or click the picture of the post if you want to see a comic about that 19th of March 1812 (in Spanish).
¡Viva la Pepa!

Såååå, for 1 million €: What do we have the most in the south of Spain?
a) Tapas. (NEJ!)
b) Funny accent. (Kanske!)
c) Unemployment. (Yes, but it’s not the answer I am looking for…).
d) Sun. (Bingo!).
That’s the way we heat the water at my place, with solar energy. We are so “ecoologist” :)
